Report an error.
This is the most useful thing you can send us, and the reason this page exists ahead of any other kind of contact.

We read everything sent here. Corrections with a statute citation get checked the same day.
If you are reporting a legal error
Please include as much of this as you can. Any of it helps; all of it means we can verify and fix it the same day.
- Which state, and which page. The URL is ideal.
- What we said that you believe is wrong — quoting it saves a lot of searching.
- What the law actually says, with the section number or case citation.
- Where you read it. A link to the enacted statute on the state's own site is worth more than anything else you can send.
If you are a legal aid lawyer, a state regulator, or someone who practises in this area, please say so — not because it changes whether we check, but because it changes how fast.
If a license link is broken
Tell us the state and what happened. State license portals migrate frequently; several links in the best national directory were already dead when this site was built, and that will keep happening.
What we cannot do
We cannot advise you on your own situationWe are not lawyers and cannot tell you whether to withhold rent, whether your landlord is liable, or what to do about your tenancy. Answering that would require knowing your lease, your local ordinance and your facts, and getting it wrong could cost you your home. Please contact a tenant attorney or your local legal aid office — most states have a free service, and several are linked from the state pages.
We also cannot recommend a pest control company, intervene with a landlord, or act as a witness.
Press and research
The corrections log documents fabricated statutory duties, an entire niche repeating one wrong citation, and sites trading on the naming conventions of legal aid organizations. If you are writing about misinformation in legal self-help, everything there is sourced and checkable. Use the same address.
